This monofilament is produced with an isotactic
PP homopolymer specially designed for the manufacture of yarns.
The special production process implemented by Sider Arc has drastically
reduced fibrillation, which is typical of polypropylene monofilaments.
A particular careful packaging with different available supports,
enables a smooth unwinding of the monofilament by either deroulé
or defilé. The result is very good processability of the yarn, both
in warping and weaving at high speed, without any dust formation.
The ideal mechanical features, low specific weight and water absorption
as well as very good resistance to most chemical agents make this
product suitable and economical for many applications. These are
the production of filter and reinforcement fabrics, technical fabrics,
hook and loop fasteners (Velcro® strips).
It can be used in contact with food (FDA) and in biomedical applications.
